Professional Philosophy

My philosophy as a professional Personal Trainer is that every client is a unique individual. As a new client, you’ll begin with a fitness assessment to determine what your goals, strengths, weaknesses, and needs are. From there, I map a plan to get you where you want to go as efficiently as possible. No two people travel the same journey, so I don’t require contracts or sell packages. I believe in a balanced, holistic approach that considers all aspects of your life to achieve complete health and wellness, including fitness, nutrition, stress management, emotional health, etc.

weight loss success

All abilities are welcome, including older and elder adults, masters athletes, those living with chronic medical conditions, pre and post-natal women, and those who wish to continue making progress after being discharged from physical therapy. You deserve, and can expect, my undivided attention during your training sessions. Because no contracts are required, programs can be tailored to fit your schedule and budget.

Personally, I’m an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys running, orienteering, biking, hiking, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, and alpine ski racing. I was nationally ranked in orienteering from 1992 – 1997 and represented the United States at the 1997 Veteran’s World Orienteering Championships. I have been an active participant in the local alpine ski racing scene for several years, competing in the Minnesota Ski Council race series and Twin Cities Ski Challenge. I have sponsored the Twin Cities Ski Challenge alpine ski racing league and worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Minnesota Lynx WNBA basketball team. I continue to participate in trail running events from 5K to 50 Miles (sometimes barefoot with a big grin on my face), and can be found climbing on the local crags at Taylor’s Falls during the summer. Other interests include nature photography, an occasional sky dive, listening to music, and a good belly laugh.
